I’ve been writing all of my life. Journaling, cataloging, lists, essays, and more journaling. I recently wrote a piece on balance with a very tongue in cheek take. As an emergency physician with two kids-one heading off to college, one just finishing the elementary school years and gearing up for the middle school drama show – married, and working during a once in a life time pandemic, balance is such an unattainable goal that I almost feel triggered at the mention of the word. Yet, I continue to get up and try to be the good I want to see in the world.

My piece on Balance, accepted into an upcoming anthology (more on that soon!), sparked a need to act on all of the words swirling in my head. They may be snarky, they may be trite, they may be overly emotional, but they will be all mine. Although I’ve always been hesitant to put my own words out there, I’m starting to feel it’s time. So here’s to you Rachel, you said I could do it all along.
